Specialised translation

At Interglossa we believe that there is no such thing as the translation of “general” texts. All of the texts that we translate are from a specific field or specialisation, have a very clear-cut purpose or audience and, therefore, require a choice of vocabulary and style adapted to their function and readership.

Legal translations

This is by far our core field of specialisation. Since our beginnings in 1993, we have worked for prestigious law firms and tax advisers, as well as for the legal departments of large companies that almost 30 years later continue to stick with us, and we with them! There must be a reason...

The most common types of documents that we translate in this field are:

  • Business agreements
  • Powers of attorney
  • Meeting minutes and certificates
  • Deeds of incorporation
  • Articles of association
  • Claims
  • Interrogatories
  • Last wills and testaments
  • Expert reports
  • Records issued by companies registries

Economy and finance

Our work over many years for major financial institutions makes us specialists in this field, in which we translate documents such as:

  • Financial statements
  • Tax reports
  • Financial prospectuses
  • Key investor information documents (KIIDs)
  • Financial reports
  • Product marketing documents
  • Financial correspondence for the launch of new products
  • Internal policies
  • EU regulations

Corporate documentation

Large companies from a wide range of sectors entrust us with the translation of their annual reports every year, as well as the documentation they produce to conduct their everyday business affairs:

  • Annual reports
  • Corporate governance reports
  • Social responsibility reports
  • Press releases
  • Newsletters

Tourism sector

We work for major hotel chains and travel agencies in the translation of:

  • Websites
  • Restaurant menus
  • Advertisements
  • Travel deals
  • Press releases

Advertising

Over the past few years, we have seen a steady rise in the demand for translations from advertising and media agencies. This type of translation requires the added extras of creativity, freshness and a knowledge of the culture targeted, which are not always easy to find. For these types of texts, it is important that the client completely understands that to put the same idea across very often once has to step away from the concept or image of the original text: this means adapting rather than translating! In this field, we work on the drafting, translation and adaptation of many advertising campaigns.

Food sector

The huge number of regulations in this sector has made it a highly specialised field. In our work for leading brand names in the food sector, we translate the following types of documentation:

  • Product labels
  • Corporate advertising
  • New product launch campaigns
  • Technical reports
  • Product fact sheets
  • Market studies

Health and medicine

Medicine is one of the fields that requires the greatest degree of specialisation by translators and editors. We translate the following types of documentation for the various hospitals and health institutions we work for:

  • Medical reports
  • Informed consent forms
  • Patient information sheets
  • Hospital discharge reports
  • Clinical trials
  • General science articles
  • Laboratory tests
  • Product certificates of conformity

Technical text

Specialised texts in any other field can be included here, because, as mentioned before, there is no such thing as a general translation.

  • Certificates of conformity
  • Instruction manuals
  • Health and safety rules
  • Research papers
